The WTT Champions Montpellier 2024 has begun on October 22 at the Sud de France Arena, featuring top table tennis players from around the world.

While there will be no action in Men’s singles from an Indian perspective. Indian stars Manika Batra and Sreeja Akula will be in action in Women’s singles after making history at the Paris Olympics 2024 by reaching the Round of 16 in singles—a first for Indian table tennis.

Manika, currently World No. 30, has been in decent form in 2024. She became the first Indian singles table tennis player to reach the quarterfinals of a WTT Grand Smash and Pre-quarterfinals at the Olympics by defeating World No. 18 Prithika Pavade before losing to Japan’s Miu Hirano.

She lost to Miyuu Kihara of Japan in the Round of 32 of WTT Champions Macao 2024.

Sreeja, currently ranked World No. 25, has also had a great 2024. She clinched WTT singles titles in Corpus Christi and Beirut and also won both singles and doubles titles at the WTT Contender Lagos.

With the draws out, we will be seeing Manika facing World No. 29 Lily Zhang of America, while Sreeja will be facing World No. 13 Adriana Diaz of Puerto Rico in the Round of 32
